Dr. Vetters graduated from McCollum High School in south San Antonio. He was a two year letterman in football, co-captain and all-district his senior year. He was a three year letterman in baseball. He was president of the freshman and sophomore class and president of the National Honor Society.

Dr. Vetters attended St. Mary’s University on a baseball scholarship. While attending St. Mary’s he represented the United States in the Latin American Friendship tournament in Nicaragua as a pitcher on the national team. He received the Bob Delaney Academic Achievement Award and the William Rex E.R.A. awards his senior year. He lettered in baseball four years. Dr. Vetters received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. He graduated Magna Cum Laude. After college Dr. Vetters worked for a year on his Master’s degree in Microbiology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He then went to dental school at the University Of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and graduated in 1979. Upon graduation, moved to Houston and practiced as an associate in two offices and opened his own practice. When his first daughter, Kristen, was born, he decided he wanted to make San Antonio his permanent home and moved back to SA. Since 1981 Dr. Vetters has practiced on the southside of San Antonio.

Dr. Vetters is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, San Antonio District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Orthodontic Society. He has over 500 Continuing Education hours since 1993 with 120 hours plus in orthodontics

Dr. Vetters got married August 6, 2007 in Fiji to a beautiful Christian lady.  Susie has four children, three still in the house.  So Dr. Vetters now has instant family again.  Susie’s kids are:  Tina (and husband Derrick), Candice, Christian (finally a little more testosterone in the house….) and Crystal.
Brady Bunch has nothing on us!!!!!! Dr. Vetters is father to three grown daughters: Kristen, Britteny and Ashley, and father in law to Chris.

Dr Vetters is a Christian and member of Community Bible Church. He has made trips to Mexico to do dentistry in the mission field and has made several evangelistic trips to spread the gospel to Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania) with Servants of the King where he serves as a board member.

Dr Vetters’ passions, outside the office, are his family, bible study, water sports, and exercise, he has completed two marathons: San Antonio Marathon and the White Rock in Dallas.
